AP Scholar Award의 종류와 자격

 

11학년들은 5월 AP 시험을 치르기 위해 준비하고 있는 가운데, AP Scholar Award에 대해 설명합니다.

​

아래 3개의 종류의 Award 가 있는데, 3개 이상의 시험을 치르고 3점 이상의 점수만 받는다면 최소 AP scholar를 받게 됩니다. 이러한 Award를 받아 미국 대학 지원 시 다른 공인 점수와 함께 대학에 보낸다면, AP 시험을 시도하지 않았던 학생들에 비교 유리한 조건의 지원이 됩니다. 그러나 AP Scholar Award는 다소 희소성이 떨어지는 만큼, AP Scholar with Honor 나 AP Scholar with Distinction 을 받아 대학 지원 시 제출할 수 있도록 한다면 재정 보조나 장학금 수혜 가능성도 높일 수 있습니다.

따라서 5월 AP 시험을 준비하는 학생들은 가능하면 AP Scholar with Honor 나 AP Scholar with Distinction 을 받을 수 있도록 4개 이상의 시험을 준비하길 추천합니다.

Award	Criteria
AP Scholar	Granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.
AP Scholar with Honor	Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
AP Scholar with Distinction	Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
