조지 워싱턴 대학교(The George Washington University 혹은 GW)는 미국의 워싱턴 D.C.에 위치한 사립대학교로, 정치학, 국제관계학과 경영학, 그리고 대학원의 법과대학과 의과대학의 명성을 자랑하는대학입니다. 워싱턴 DC에 자리한 정부 기관들과 대사관, 세계은행, 국제 통화 기금(IMF), 미국 의회 도서관을 비롯한 다양한 연구 기관들과의 학생, 교수들의 교류가 활발하여, 대학원 연구가 활발하고, 취업률이 높다는 평가를 받고 있습니다. 특히 국제관계학을 다루는 엘리엇 스쿨은 세계 최고의 학교 중 하나로 알려져 있는데, 이는 아이비리그 보다도 인지도가 높아, 정치적 활동이 가장 활발한 워싱턴 DC에서 명실상부한 학교의 입지를  보여주는 예라고 볼 수 있습니다.

GW의 입학 평균 SAT 점수대는 1190 - 1390, ACT 27 - 31, 평균 GPA 3.8, 2016 합격률 39.5%를 나타냈습니다.

GW대학 지원 SAT. ACT 주요 사항  

If a student chooses to submit redesigned SAT scores, GW will consider the reading and math sections only; GW does not evaluate the writing section of the redesigned SAT or the writing section of the ACT in the admissions process.  

GW will superscore the SAT, which means that the Admissions Committee will consider only the highest critical reading, math and writing scores you’ve submitted, regardless of test administration. We will not superscore the ACT, but the committee will consider the highest submitted composite score.

유학생 지원자 요구사항 

If you’re an international applicant (non-U.S. citizens and non-U.S. permanent residents), you are not required to submit SAT/ACT scores for admission unless you are also part of one of the groups required to still submit test scores.

TOEFL, IELTS Minimum TOEFL score: 90 (iBT), IELTS score: 6.5 (overall) 

if English is not your first language, as indicated on the Common Application. This requirement may be waived if you submit a SAT critical reasoning score of 600 or higher, evidence-based reading and writing of 600 or higher or an ACT English score of 27 or higher.

Presidential International Scholarship

Any non-U.S. citizen or non-permanent resident who is admitted to GW as a first-year undergraduate for the fall semester and possesses strong academic credentials is eligible for consideration for a Presidential International Scholarship.

Automatic consideration will be given to eligible candidates at the time of admission, but priority is given to applicants who have admissions files that are complete by the application deadlines (Early Decision or Regular Decision). The value of the scholarship varies, but can cover full tuition.

Presidential Academic Scholarships

International freshman applicants who graduate from high schools in the U.S. are automatically considered for Presidential Academic Scholarships.

Freshman International Engineering Scholarships

The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences offers a generous program of scholarships through the Presidential Academic Scholarship Program and all international applicants are considered for them. You are required to enroll in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences to receive the award.
