학부모님이나 학생과 상담을 하다 보면,
학교를 지원하거나 다닐 때 사용하는 용어에 대해 잘 모르시는 경우가 있습니다.
흔히 접하는 용어가 아니기 때문에 당연히 낯설 수밖에 없습니다.
그래서 오늘은 학교를 지원할 때나 다닐 때 흔히 사용하는 몇 가지 용어와 줄임말을 모아 보았습니다.
한국어로 설명하기 애매모호한 용어는, 영어로 설명하겠습니다.
AP
Advanced Placement 의 줄임말로 고등학교에서 대학 과목 선 이수를 말하는 것입니다.
미리 대학 수준의 과목을 공부하여 학점을 따서 대학에서는 그 과목을 수강하지 않습니다.
IB
International Baccalaureate의 줄임말로 AP와 같은 대학 과목 선 이수제입니다.
SSAT
The Secondary School Admissions Test 사립학교를 지원하기 위한 대표적인 테스트입니다.
ISEE
The Independent Schools Entrance Exam 학교를 지원하기 위해 보는 일반적인 시험입니다.
IPSL
The Ivy Preparatory School League은 뉴욕의 탑 사립학교의 협력단을 말합니다.
HSPT
HSPT는 고등학교 배치 고사
COOP
COOP is the Cooperative Entrance Examination.
Roman Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Newark과 the Diocese of Paterson은
입학시험으로 COOP을 봅니다.

Form
