안녕하세요. 장맛비가 내리는 오후입니다.
촉촉한 대지에 실내가 조금 습하기는 하지만, 가뭄에 타들어 갔던 땅에 촉촉한 단비가 내려, 반갑기 그지 없습니다. 하지만, 또 한편으로는 홍수로 몸살을 앓는 다른 지역을 생각하면, 적당히 내려 주지 않는 비가 야속하기만 하네요..
며칠 전에 글로벌 워밍에 대한 포스팅을 한 적이 있었는데, 요즘 들어 정상적이지 않는 기후를 보면서, 걱정만 앞서는 제가 좀 답답해 보입니다. 그렇다고 일선을 제치고 환경운동을 할 수도 없고 말이죠... 쓰레기 분리수거, 에너지 절약 등 제가 할 수 있는 게 이것 밖에 없네요.. 그래도 가장 기본적이고 중요한 운동이겠죠? ^^

If you are interested in entering the university as a freshman, you need to satisfy the following minimum requirements:

The 15 courses are:

a. History/social science 2 years

b. English 4 years

c. Mathematics 3 years

d. Laboratory science 2 years

e. Language other than English  2 years

f. Visual and performing arts 1 year

g. College-preparatory elective*

*chosen from the subjects listed above or another course approved by the university  1 year

유학생 유의사항 

UC has slightly different admission requirements for international students. For freshman admission, you must:

Complete 15 year-long academic courses with a 3.40 GPA:

2 years of history/social science (In place of U.S. History, history of your country)

4 years of composition and literature in language in which you are instructed

3 years of math including geometry and advanced algebra

2 years of laboratory science (1 biological/1 physical)

2 years of a second language

1 yearlong course of visual and performing arts

1 additional course from any subject areas above

영어 최소 점수 요구 사항 

IELTS (International English Language Testing System): Overall band score of 6.5 or higher*

TOEFL : Minimum score of 550 PBT or 80 IBT

SAT Writing Exam: 560 or higher

ACT combined English-Writing or English Language Arts portion: 24 or higher

AP English Language and Composition, or English Literature and Composition: 3, 4, or 5

IB Standard Level examination in English: Literature, or Language and Literature: 6 or 7

IB Higher Level examination in English: Literature, or Language and Literature: 5, 6, or 7

August 1, 2017  UC Application for Admission available online

March 2-May 1, 2018   UC Santa Cruz Financial Aid Office requests supporting documentation from applicants and sends preliminary aid estimates to most new freshmen (sent to most new transfer students March 1-June 1)

September 27, 2018 Classes Begin
